PPG Asian Paints Pvt. Ltd - AHMEDABAD MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, GUJARAT

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has invited HHIDS to implement a Behavioral Change Communication (BCC) project in 1000 households in areas of Praveen Nagar and Gupta Nagar near Changodar, within the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. The project is funded by PPG Asian Paints Pvt. Ltd through its CSR activities. The project, initiated in September 2018, imparts KAP (Knowledge, Attitude and Practice) regarding municipal solid waste management among target group through intensive innovative campaigns. Through the campaigns the project aims to achieve 50 percent waste segregation at source within a period of one year.

FICCI-SEDF PARTNERSHIP

Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Socio Economic Development Foundation FICCI SEDF as part of their corporate social responsibility is supporting Municipal Solid waste Management Project in two villages of Talodra and Dhadeda in the Jhagadia Block of Bharuch District in the State of Gujarat, India. The project started on the 20th of November 2016. The project, handled by Hand in Hand Inclusive Development and Services, manages wastes of about 1000 households of Talodra and Dhadeda. The waste from households is collected every day using a goods auto; the organic waste is converted to compost whereas the recyclable wastes are channelized to recyclers.

MITSUBISHI Elevator india PVT LTD

Mitsubishi Elevator India Pvt Ltd, a pioneer in the elevators & escalators segment in the country works on various development activities, under Corporate Social Responsibility policy. The company has now teamed up with Hand in Hand Inclusive Development and Services to successfully implement its CSR activities at Karaikal, Cantonment Board and Madambakkam MSWM projects.

Installation of model dustbins in Karaikal

20 dustbins have been installed in public places such as beach, bus stands, educational institutions and commercial areas to handle the floating population. The two-bin system (for biodegradable and recyclable waste) are inscribed with a concise message about the significance of segregation, and listed with materials that are organic and recyclable.

Biogas units in Cantonment - Pallavaram

A 100 cu m biogas unit has been setup at the Cantonment Park, Pallavaram to treat the food waste generated by the nearby restaurants. The installed unit is able to treat 500 kg of food waste every day. A 15 kVA generator is used to convert the generated biogas into electricity. The lights in the Cantonment Park, which have a combined capacity of 4000W, are feeding off the electricity produced by the generator.

Similarly, a 25 cu m biogas unit has been setup at Cantonment School, Pallavaram. The resultant energy is utilized to prepare midday meals for around 500 students every day.

Tree planting drive in Madambakkam

Mitsubishi Elevator India Pvt Ltd has contributed 550 saplings and tree guards to protect the saplings in the Madambakkam area. The planting drive was inaugurated on 12th December, 2017. This drive, which had an active participation of volunteers, was pleasantly welcomed by the residents.

DTCC

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) – Chennai, a leading financial company, has partnered with Hand in Hand Inclusive Development and Services to execute developmental activities as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. The firm has sponsored Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the Green Friends in HHIDS projects during 2016-17. The following year, DTCC has funded for the education of children from marginalized communitieswith the support of HHIDS.

ACC CEMENT PARTNERSHIP

‘Clean and Green Madukkarai’

The Madukkarai Town Panchayat came together with ACC Cement Works – Madukkarai and Hand In Hand India/SEED Trust to implement the Municipal Solid Waste Management project named “Clean & Green Madukkarai” in the town. The project was implemented through a Public Private Partnership Model.

Launched in 2011, Hand in Hand implemented the project for the initial three years, developing the entire MSWM system in the town from scratch. The project has impacted the lives of 35,000 people of Madukkarai Panchayat,and has resulted in getting recognized recently by the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest recycling lesson in the world.

‘Clean and Green Jamul’, Chhattisgarh

To replicate the success of ‘Clean and Green Madukkarai’, ACC Cements and HHIDS have intiated the ‘Clean and Green Jamul’ project in the Jamul Municipality located in the Durg District in the State of Chhattisgarh. Along with the Nagar Palika Parishad-Jamul, ACC Limited (ACC Trust) has established a tripartite agreement with HHIDS to implement the MSWM project in the Municipality.

Launched in August 2018,the project executes HHIDS’ ‘Recycle for Life’ model, a unique Municipal solid waste management system that emphasizes on segregation of waste at source i.e. households.
